Title: Why do we allow children of God to be forced to look
for food in the garbage?

Why are children in Rwanda forced to look for food in the garbage? When children are hungry and starving there only option is to look in the garbage for left over food that may have been thrown out in the garbage. This is when diseases come in to play within the food that is found in the garbage. It is highly contaminated with bacteria and other infectious diseases that slowly build up and cause death. In the last decade Rwanda has averaged out 6000-9000 deaths due to garbage hunting. Unfortunately the lack of education and desperation to get a meal prevents a child from the knowing the consequences he/she may face when this decision is made. Both the mental and physical health are being put at risk. Families who don't have the financial support find no other alternative rather than to send their children to work for minimum wage that can be 75 cents a day or in this case food hunting in the garbage. When a parent does this he/she doesn't realize that not only are they putting their child's health at risk they also prevent them from having an education. This is how the number of casualties and families that suffer from hunger increase every year. Children deserve to eat healthy and not be forced to eat garbage. Luckily the organization Partners in Health have extended their support out to provide children with Food, Water and Housing.

Title: It is important that clean water is always available.

The lack of clean water in Uganda is severe. Every year about 5000-8000 children die from drinking contaminated waters that surround them. The cause of their death is the bacteria and diseases that the water has mixed within it. These viruses cause infection and Mal-nutrition. A non profit organization has began a movement throughout the world and it known as Water is Life. It's mission like many other organizations is to lower the number of casualties from throughout the world. This includes children to adults. Due to the fact that the expected years of life is only 39 Water is Life is determines to slowly rise that number into the 50's. The reason for Uganda's terrible suffrage is because for the last two decades they have been going through a brutal war. Children wake up early in the morning to try and walk for many miles. There objective is trying to find clean water that they can take back home and give to their family. Sometimes they can, but most of the time they can't. Clean water now is one of the main resources that the US is providing to help African nations such as Uganda.

Title: What can you do to give these children the food that they
desperately need to live?

The hunger in Somalia has continued to increase throughout the years. This is mainly caused because there hasn't been a central government in Somalia for the past twenty years. This means that there is no one to provide absolute financial support to those who need it such as these children who can't even receive education. Families become so desperate that they cross the border between Southern Somalia and Northeastern Kenya praying to get aid for there weakened children and for them selves. USAID is one of the biggest providers for the citizens in Somalia who need help. Every year they provide Somalia with food and clean water to help them through their struggle. The US believes we all should live with food and not be exposed to suffrage. By providing financial support a family is given the opportunity to live another day. Although the life expectancy is low support can always be provided and will never be neglected. This is the reason for which the US and many other countries support Rwanda every year one way or the other.
